Knowledge Engineering Consulting has been involved for decades in developing research projects focused on brain-inspired architectures and intersecting with multiple commercial applications. 

​​​​In early 2025 KEC was honoured to have been approached by UK Startup Conscium, the world's first commercial research organisation investigating the implications of building Machine Consciousness the development of a brain-inspired explainable, self-adaptive AI framework that enables conscious perception of stimuli. This has been released as eXCube and is a continuous commercial and research engagement.
